Dan is a Master Builder from the Special Events team in Enfield, CT. I've had the very great pleasure of working with Erik V. and Steve G. before, and now I consider myself very lucky to have been involved with Dan in such a terrifically entertaining, engaging, and exhausting event.

I'm a very fast and persistent worker, so I was very happy to have been doing what I was doing all weekend, behind the scenes. But, to be perfectly honest, if I'd have had my way, I'd have very much preferred to work out front with the public. And, I'd have dropped what I was doing to do so if I didn't think Dan had it covered. And then some. I knew what I was doing was very much a necessary task, and my availability and speed made it the ideal spot for me this weekend. And, Dan is the kind of guy that has no trouble at all captivating and controlling an audience. He's undoubtedly a skilled builder, but he's also an incredible people person. Plus, the fact that he gets to travel from location to location and work with LEGO in this capacity...well, that sounds just awesome to me.

At the end of the night, I felt kind of bad -- I could tell he was exhausted, and he seemed to rush right out of the store with his trunk in tow, apparently with little or no goodbyes or thank you's. I'm sure this was not the case, as someone like him and the service he provides is very VERY much appreciated and respected; but, still, I wish I could have stopped and talked with him a bit. In fact, we were all working at such a hectic pace this weekend that, to me, it says quite a bit about the character and dedication of us all involved that we could keep a smile and good spirits all the while.

I am very glad that I chose to spend all three days working with Dan, the employees of the new Braintree location, all the other great LEGO employees that came from the other two MA retail locations, the members of the First LEGO Leauge robotics team that volunteered their time (you guys were awesome), and of course all the incredible members of the public - all ages - that came each day to lend a hand and be part of such an amazing time.

I look forward to working with any and all of these people again. I count myself very blessed for all the opportunities that my LEGO hobby has given me. There is no single other thing that has brought so much into my life and had so much of a positive impact in so many areas and aspects as LEGO has.
